LIFE Foodprint at the International Food and Drink Event 2023

Friends of the Earth Cyprus attended earlier this week the International Food and Drink (IFE) event in London on behalf of our project LIFE Foodprint to showcase the project and its results and network with the industry and projects that work along the supply chain including sourcing, production, processing, retail and distribution and consumption.

The exhibition, which took place at the ExCeL London, was a three-day affair filled with interesting talks, workshops, and seminars. We learned so much during these 3 days by joining the three big stages of seminars, which were packed with knowledgeable speakers in the field. We were impressed with the wide range of topics covered, from sustainability and packaging to marketing and branding.

We had the chance to connect with other organizations and individuals who work in the field of food donation, which Friends of the Earth Cyprus focus on through the collaboration platform of Foodprint project. We exchanged ideas, learned from each other’s experiences and reminded ourselves once again that making connections and collaboration between stakeholders is essential to building resilient, just and sustainable food systems we need.

One of the highlights of the exhibition was the opportunity to showcase our project at the stand of the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Commerce. We were pleased to receive positive feedback and interest in our work from a diverse audience who joined the stand and more specifically from Mr. Andreas Kakouris, High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus in the UK.

Attending this event was an inspiring and informative experience. We left full of enthusiasm for our work, and we look forward in working on building our food waste network though the collaboration platform of LIFE Foodprint project.
